ABOUT THE OWNER



Steve Williamson has had a life time as an angler and for the last 20 years has been a professional fishing instructor and fishing guide.

Steve has a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Steve was born in Sydney in1952 and as a youth spent his time on the Northern Beaches of NSW in Pittwater at a place called Mackeral Beach where he learnt to fish at a very early age.
The first photos taken of Steve with a fish was at the age of 2 years.
Steve’s father and mother were keen anglers and his grandfather spent some years as a commercial fisherman.
Living on the beach Steve spent most of his time fishing, boating and surfing.
Steve moved to Hurstville at the age of 5 but Steve’s parents still had the original house at Mackeral Beach as a holiday house where he continued his interest in fishing.
Steve has over 50 years experience as a recreational angler in both saltwater and freshwater methods and has worked as a professional fishing guide and instructor for 20 years.
Steve is regarded as a leader in the fishing industry with his main expertise in freshwater methods.

Awards

The success of Steve Williamson and Lake Jindabyne Trout Fishing Adventures has been proven by the acceptance of the following awards -

• 2004 ‘ACT and Region Tourism Award’ Judges Choice Category for event ‘Snowy Mountains Trout Challenge’. Steve Williamson was Event Manager and Coordinator of the event which was also Steve’s concept.
• 2001 Australia Micro Established Business of the year.
• 2001 “NSW and ACT Micro business of the year.’
• 2001 ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for services to tourism in the Snowy Mountains.
• 2000 Winner ‘Snowy Mountains Tourism Award’ Adventure Tourism Category.
• 2000 Winner ‘Snowy Mountains Tourism Award’ General Tourism Category.
• 1999 Distinction ‘NSW Tourism Awards’
• 1998 Jindabyne Chamber of Commerce ‘Excellence of Service Award’
• Awarded New South Wales Police ‘Commanders Award’ for knowledge supplied for rescue operations on Lake Jindabyne.

Steve can offer professional training for the recreational angler of can provide a nationally accredited certificate recognized by the fishing and boating industry.

It doesn’t matter if you want to fish for fun or a career, Steve and his team of instructors can offer you all the necessary training to further your fishing knowledge.

Recreational Courses

Steve Williamson offers recreational fishing courses in many methods of fishing.

Customised fishing courses are not a problem.

Steve offers courses for school groups as well.

Fishing courses for corporate groups are also available.
